HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Just give me a call and let me know when you want to get started. We'll set a date and time dependent on the plane's availability. Come ready to fly. You will be doing basic flight maneuvers and handling the aircraft on your first lesson.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Although obtaining a private pilot certificate requires a minimum of 40 hours flight time, most student pilots log closer to 50-65 hours before their final checkride. The length of your training depends, in part, on whether you want to study full or part-time. This will take somewhere between 4 months to a year.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The average cost of earning your Private Pilot Certificate is between $5,000 and $8,000. Much of the cost is determined by the amount of hours it takes to complete your flight training. If you work hard and grasp the lesson content and master the technical skills, it will take less flight time and your cost goes down. If you have difficulty grasping some of the technical flight skills, your cost will increase due to the need to repeat lessons. Each lesson lasts approximately 1.2 hours; it depends on the lesson content. The aircraft rents for $125.00 hour and the instructor’s rate is $35.00 hour. One hour of flight time with an instructor is $160.00
WHAT TYPE OF AIRPLANE WILL WE BE FLYING?
We will be flying a 2003 Cessna 172S model. This is a four place high wing, single engine fuel injected(180HP), fixed gear aircraft with a GPS, and an autopilot. Very nice!
